Dickinson @ Clear Lake
The Dickinson Gators struggled some offensively last week, but did manage to come away with a 13-10 win over Brazoswood with a Chris Alonso fumble recovery for a touchdown with nine minutes left in the game. New quarterback Clay Honeycut will look to get the offense moving again this week in the abscence of Brody Trahan who is out for the remainder of the year.
The Clear Lake Falcons are coming off a stunning 14-13 loss to Clear Brook last week. The Falcons will need to protect the ball better this week after losing two fumbles last week including one that ended their final drive of the game with just over two minutes left to play.
Prediction :Falcons by 10
Clear Creek @ Brazoswood
The Clear Creek Wildcats are coming off a tough and disappointing loss last week to Clear Springs. I am not sure at this point who will be at the helm of the Wildcat offense this week, but either way, Marcus Mata or Chris Collins will need to get the ball in the hands of the talented group of receivers if they are to win.
The Brazoswood Buccaneers are coming off a 13-10 narrow defeat at the hands of Dickinson last week. Brazowood running back Travis Lundy is tied for second place in district 24-5A scoring with 54 total points. Lundy will need to add to that total if the Bucs have hopes of winning this week.
Prediction : Wildcats by 7
Clear Brook vs Galveston Ball
The Clear Brook Wolverines are coming off an impressive 14-13 win over Clear Lake last week, that has bolstered the Wolverines play-off hopes. The Wolverines are averaging just over 358 yards of offense a week, and running back Brandon Ellison is locked in a battle with Alvin's Ashton Jefferson for the district rushing title. Ellison has 829 yards on the season, just 59 yards shy of Jefferson.
The Galveston Ball Tors are coming off a tough 15-13 loss to Alvin last week. The Tors actually outgained Alvin last week, but 2 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles proves to be costly. Under the circumstances the Tors have done well to field a team at all this year.
Prediction : Wolverines by 14
Alvin @ Clear Springs
The Alvin Yellowjackets come into the week having won their first game of the season last week, and hoping to build on it. Running back Ashton Jefferson continues to lead the district in rushing with 888 yards and is just off the scoring lead with 54 total points.
The Clear Springs Chargers look to continue to shock the district after upsetting Clear Creek last week. The Chargers are led by quarterback Philip Miller who is third in the district in passing yards so far this season with 780. The Chargers defens leads 24-5A with 7 interceptions on the year.
Prediction : Chargers by 10
