Alvin @ Clear Creek
The Alvin Yellowjackets are riding a two game winning streak after losing their first five games. Junior Ashton Jefferson continues to lead the district in rushing with 1156 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Yellowjackets are not technically out of the play-off race yet, and a win at Clear Creek they can make things more interesting.
The Clear Creek Wildcats need a win this week if they want to have a fighting chance to make the play-offs. Marcus Mata remains near the top of the district in passing this year and CJ McElroy leads the district with 31 receptions this year.
Prediction : Yellowjackets by 7
Clear Lake @ Brazoswood
The Clear Lake Falcons are coming off a huge 30-7 win over Dickinson last week. The Falcon defens came up huge last week holding Dickinson to 7 points, and forcing several key turnovers in the win. The Falcons lead the district in offense output averaging 369 yards a game, mostly on the ground.
The Brazoswood Buccaneers are technically not out of the play-offs, but at this point are just playing out the season. Bucs running back Travis Lundy still has a legitimate shot at reaching the 1000 yard barrier, but will need to average 181 yards in the final two games to get there.
Prediction : Falcons by 17
Galveston Ball @ Dickinson
The Galveston Ball Tors are coming off a tough 21-17 loss to Clear Brook in which the Tors only had 167 total yards of offense. The Tors get a bye this year, and have remained competitive despite the distractions they have faced.
The Dickinson Gators will look to regroup after a tough loss to Clear Lake last week. They will need to protect the ball better after losing several key fumbles in last weeks loss. Junior Clay Honeycutt has stepped in after Brody Trahans injury and seems to be be getting better with each game.
Prediction : Gators by 20
Clear Springs @ Clear Brook
The Clear Springs Chargers are coming off a dissappointing 30-15 loss to Alvin last week. They have definitely over achieved in their first year of varsity play, and still have a shot at the play-offs, but will need to win their last two games to help themselves get in. The Chargers will need to produce some offense as they rank dead last in offense in the district. They do however rank second in the district in team defense which has kept them in most games.
The Clear Brook Wolverines are in control of their own destinies as they are firmly in the third place in the district. A win this week will get them there. Wolverine quarterback Lane Berry is third in the district with 833 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns.
Prediction : Wolverines by 7
