District 14-5A: Week 9 Predictions

TexasPrepInsider.com continues the 2008 football season with our weekly predictions of your favorite teams. Check out who we feel will come away with a win this week. This is free content so enjoy.

The Woodlands vs. Lufkin
Let's make this one short and sweet. The only opponent that can beat The Woodlands in 14-5A is The Woodlands, period. Yes, Lufkin has a handful of solid athletes, but this Highlander team slows down for no one. Whether it is the offense led by Andy McCloud or the defense led by Colin Renton, these boys are for real. And they continue their undefeated season with the win.

College Park vs. Oak Ridge
Both teams are in a must-win situation for this week as the playoff hunt continues. Judging by the numbers, the War Eagles have an advantage of a balanced attack offensively, but the Cavaliers could bring the hat and wear them down on the ground. Quarterback Taylor Parson leads the way for College Park while Ryan Cyr has majority of Oak Ridge's yards.

Same record and same situation lies ahead for both teams. It's hard to predict this one, but I think the Cavilers come away victorious.

New Caney vs. Conroe
As both of these teams come off a loss, the Conroe team is in a good position to finish No. 2 in the district. Of course next up for them are the Eagles, a team still fighting for a district win in the 5A ranks. Word is that New Caney is a little banged up which doesn't; help the cause either.

The Tigers have been without back Lou Greenwood, but D.D. Johnson has filled in and done well. There is no question that this one is in favor of Conroe.
