District 20-5A: Week 10 Predictions

TexasPrepInsider.com finishes the 2008 football regular season with our weekly predictions of your favorite teams. Check out who we feel will come away with a win this week. This is free content so enjoy.

Houston Madison vs. Houston Lamar
Last week Madison fell to a tough Westside team when a 2-point attempt was stuffed. With that said, look for a newfound focus from this Marlin team. This week they face another tough game against the district-leading Lamar team. Make no mistake, every year this game is a live one and most of the time I would say that this is a Redskin win.

But, this Marlins team is on a mission and I think that the edge is on their end. It will be nice to see how Madison's defense, led by James Washington, handles the Lamar running attack powered by Kalvin Guyton. Also, look for Broderick Thomas and Jeffery Lewis to set the tone early on the ground. Madison will need to continue moving the chains and put together solid drives to slow down Lamar.

And that is what I think will happen.

Houston Westside vs. Houston Chavez
There are a couple of big games going on in the district and look for this one to not disappoint with Chavez and Westside playing. Both teams have a playoff spot, but the way both of these programs see it, all games are important.

This game features strong running backs with Frank Williams (Westside) and Mark Cole (Chavez) toting the rock. Look for both of them to have good showings. With that said, this game will come down to defense and I think the ‘Blue Dogs' plan to come out and play.

Houston Milby vs. Houston Davis
District play is over and the Davis team has already clinched a playoff spot so the game against Milby must be simply a tune up. And despite the fact that the Buffs are a 5A team, the Panthers can still get with them.
