Magnolia (8-3) vs. Friendswood (9-1), 1 p.m. Saturday, Thorne Stadium, Houston
The Magnolia Bulldogs are coming off last weeks thrilling 34-27 win over Nederland in the Area round of the play-offs. Quarterback Connor Wehr made the most of his 6 completions last week, netting 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. Bulldogs running back Alex Smith rushed for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day. The Bulldogs defense were also active in the game with multiple fumble recoveries.
The Friendswood Mustangs get to the divisional round of the playoffs via thier win over Westbury last week. The Mustangs were led yet again offensively by Texas Tech commit Jacob Karam who thre for 200 yards and a touchdown, and scored on a 1 yard run as well. Andre Gautreaux stood out yet again with a receiving touchdown and a 76 yard kick-off return for a touchdown. The Mustang defense had 4 interceptions in the win.

Beaumont Central (8-3) vs. Angleton (9-3), 6 p.m. Saturday, Galena Park ISD Stadium, Galena Park
The Beaumont Central Jaguars beat Lockhart last week 24-21 in the Area round of the playoffs. Jaguars quarterback Mike Richard threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Jaguar running back David Mayfield lead the team with 118 rushing yards. The Jaguars defense also had an interception in the win.
The Angleton Wildcats continued their march last week by beating Davis 55-19. The story for the Wildcats was once again Sophomore Quandre Diggs who rushed for 74 yards with 2 scores and threw for another. Offensively the Wildcats get a big piece of the puzzle back this week in running back Henry Josey who is returning from a sprained knee.

Division 2 Region III
Dayton (10-1) vs. Rosenberg Terry (6-4), 7 p.m. Saturday, Woodforest Stadium, The Woodlands
The Dayton Broncos continued their run through the competion last week with a 42-14 win over Elgin. Dayton scored 28 points in the second half and shut out Elgin after being tied 14-14 mid-way through the contest. Once again the familiar names of Cody Green and A.J. Dugat were visible in the box score. Green threw for 189 yards and 3 scores while rushing for another. Dugat had 158 receiving yards with 3 scores and rushed for 2 more on the night.
The Terry Rangers won in impressive fashion with a 38-6 victory over Sharpstown. Rangers running back Demarcus Bufford rushed for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory. The Rangers defense held Sharpstown to just 179 total yards and had 2 fumble recoveries in the win. Terry is one of those teams that lack flash, but will beat you with solid fundimental team football.

Brenham (7-4) vs. El Campo (8-2), 7 p.m. Friday, Tully Stadium, Houston
The Brenham Cubs get to the Division round by way of a 31-24 win over Crosby last week. Offensively quarterback Ty Schlottman and running back Kendrick Washington were the leaders accounting for 125 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cube executed a beautiful fake punt for a touchdown in the third quarter when Chas Wellbrook found Troy Green for the 46 yard score.
The El Campo Ricebirds are coming off a 28-6 win over Yates last week. Ricebird running backs Maverick Smith and Landon Appling rushed for 120 ans 114 yards respectively with Appling adding a touchdown to his totals. Bryan Skow continues to impress with his play from both sides of the ball. he only had 9 rushes on the night, but turned 2 of them into touchdowns.

Region 1 player of the week: Quandre Diggs, ATH, Angleton
Super Sophomore Quandre Diggs continued his impressive run in the play-offs with another big day against Davis. Diggs had three scores in the win, and has been playing on both sides of the ball and at multiple positions all year long.
Region 2 player of the Week: A.J.Dugat, ATH, Dayton
Senior A.J.Dugat also continued his wonderful play thus far by gaining 244 yards of total offense with five scores in his teams victory over Elgin. The talented Dugat is nearing the 2000 yards of total offense mark, and could very well reach it this week. Recruitng rumors have continued to heat up around Dugat as well with word of the Longhorns looking to get in on the services of Dugat.
