As usual Lancaster High is back at it producing big time talent and one member of a talented junior class is getting some strong interest in CB Tyler Stephenson. A 6'0 170 pound CB with 4.48 speed and a 37 inch vertical leap was solid for LHS in 2008 posting 55 tackles and two interceptions for the Tigers who went 6-6 in 2008 advancing to the Class 4A Area Playoffs.

With the sub 4.5 speed it's obvious Tyler is a key contributor on the track for Lancaster as he runs both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. As for strengths and weaknesses Stephenson said, "My main strength is my ability in pass coverage I think I'm a cover corner. I really want to spend more time in the weight room and work on getting better in run support."

Tyler holds one offer as things stand right now and that's from North Carolina, he's also getting interest from LSU, Oregon and Texas A&M. However the early leader in the clubhouse is Baylor, Stephenson commented on what he likes about the Bears. "They (Baylor) are close to home and I like that, but also they are going to let me run track also."

Stephenson plans on taking trips to Baylor and Oklahoma State this off-season in addition to playing some seven on seven and attending the Scout.com Combine. Tyler plans on majoring in Kinesiology in college and says academics and tradition will play a role in where he lands. The decision won't come anytime soon for Tyler as he's content to let the process play itself out.

In 2009 Tyler has a goal to help Lancaster win the District 15-4A title and make a deep playoff run, "I want us to make a run my senior year, personally I want to try and get all-area and maybe all-state honors."
