Friday Night Spotlight

ESP puts together a list of the top games in the State of Washington this weekend. There should be a game in almost every area of the state…

This may be the most loaded weekend of games so far. The lineup below is filled with tough matchups and rivalries. There are plenty more out there that could have made the list…

Friday Night

#3 Auburn vs. #10 Kentwood, 7pm, French Field
The SPSL North title appears to be up for grabs in this battle. Kentlake is lurking in the standings but I expect the winner of this game to win the league title. Auburn was the early season favorite, where Kentwood has jumped up and surprised some people. We will see who is for real after this weekend.

#1 Curtis vs. Puyallup, 7pm, Sparks
Curtis needs to remain focused after a big win against Graham-Kapowsin last weekend. Puyallup can throw the rock and will attempt to pass on a very talented Curtis team. In the end, I think Curtis is too physical for Puyallup to keep up with.

Foster vs. Kennedy, 7pm, Foster
Foster has come out of nowhere to start the season 4-0, they face their biggest test to date in Kennedy. Can Foster knock Kennedy off their usual perch atop the conference?

#4 Liberty vs. Juanita, 7pm, Juanita
Liberty better be ready for a tough Juanita team. The Rebels are athletic and fly around on defense. I think the Rebels can slow the Patriots offense down a bit, but I don't see their offense being productive. Liberty pulls it out in the end.

Mercer Island vs. #5 Bellevue, 7pm, Bellevue
Bellevue is a heavy favorite in this one. The Islanders will be looking for some magic from their junior quarterback Jeff Lindquist.

Central Valley vs. #7 Ferris, 8pm, Albi
Central Valley needs a win in this game. Ferris is showing why they are one of the top programs in the state. They have reloaded a year after losing some of the state's top classes to graduation. Ferris would go a long way to securing a playoff berth with a win Friday.

Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a great weekend of football…
