Just like last week when Auburn faced Kentwood, the SPSL North title appears to be up for grabs. The winner of this game has the inside track to the league title. Auburn was the early season favorite, where Kentwood has jumped up and surprised some people. Kentlake has really come from out of nowhere with a new coaching staff and early season success. We will see who is for real after this weekend.
#1 Curtis vs. #8 Auburn, 7pm, Curtis
This game would have been even bigger if both teams were still undefeated. This game has little playoff implications. However, the winner will have made a big statement and Curtis will be over there last huge hurdle on the way to an undefeated season.
#4 Mt. Spokane vs. #5 Ferris, 8pm, Albi
This game is much larger for Ferris. Mt. Spokane has all but locked up a playoff spot out of the 3A GSL. Ferris has numerous teams nipping at their heels in 4A. That said, don't expect Mt. Spokane to lie down, there is not a lot of love lost between these two teams.
Gonzaga Prep vs. Central Valley , 7pm, Central Valley
Both teams really need a win to stay in the hunt for a playoff berth. The Bullpups could find themselves alone in second place for 4A with a win. A loss would send them into a tie with numerous other schools.
#9 Juanita vs. #5 Bellevue, 7pm, Juanita
Juanita shocked many, including myself, by beating Liberty in easy fasion last weekend. The Rebels are looking for a repeat performance against powerhouse Bellevue. Bellevue still has Liberty on the schedule, while the Rebels could coast after a win over the Wolverines.
Bothell vs. Woodinville, 7pm, Pop Keeney
Bothell is quietly lurking under the radar this season. They have a tough game against rival Woodinville this Friday night. If you are looking for a place to go watch a game, newly renovated Pop Keeney is never a bad choice, just get there early.
Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a great weekend of football…
