Friday Night Spotlight

ESP puts together a list of the top games in the State of Washington this weekend. There should be a game in almost every area of the state…

Teams are playing for playoff spots all over the state as the season starts winding down…

Thursday Night
Gonzaga Prep vs. Mead, 6:30pm, Albi
The Bullpups can lock up a playoff spot in the tight GSL with a win. If they win, they will play Ferris next week with the league title on the line. If they lose, they will have to beat Ferris or risk falling into a tie with Mead and Central Valley for the last playoff spot. Mead will play desperate as their season is on the line, should be a great game.

#1 Curtis vs. Bethel, 7pm, Bethel
Bethel is the last hurdle standing between Curtis and a perfect season. The Braves have surprised many by rebounding well after losing a talented class of senior last year. If Curtis wins, they win the division. If they lose, things could get real messy in the SPSL South on the last week of the season.

Friday Night
#2 Skyline vs. #10 Eastlake, 7pm, Skyline
The winner of this game will be the #1 seed out the of the KingCo Crest division and face Bothell in the crossover next week. Both teams will still make the playoffs, but this game is huge for seeding and pride as the schools are located less than a mile apart.

Graham-Kapowsin vs. Rogers, 7pm, Sparks
Graham-Kapowsin was a highly ranked team heading into the season. With two weeks left, they find themselves having to upset Rogers in order to stay in the playoff hunt. Graham-Kapowsin will rely heavily on their running game, but will still need some big plays form QB Drew Ausitn if they want to win.

Mariner vs. Jackson, 5pm, Goddard
Jackson has been the class of the division for the last couple of seasons. That is put to the test in a game against division leading Mariner. Jackson will need to stop talented tailback Keivarae Russell if they want to upset Mariner.

Monroe vs. Marysville-Pillchuck , 7pm, M-P
Just like the previsou WesCo Battle, this is a game between the defending league champ and the new top team. M-P can get back in the title hunt with a win; Monroe needs a win to stay with Arlington.

King's vs. Archbishop Murphy , 7pm, Archbishop Murphy
Two undefeated 2A teams face off in Everett. Thomas Vincent has been one of the most productive offensive players in the state this season. While Archbishop boats one of the stronger lines in any division, anchored by Julius Tevaga and Taniela Tupou.

Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a great weekend of football…
