Heytvelt gets 28, Clarkston gets "W"

Mount Spokane played a box and one and either double or triple teamed Josh Heytvelt every time he touched the ball in the paint. It didn't work. The 6-10 senior scored 28 of 6-1 Clarkston's 37 points and the Bantams got the "W" 37-34 Tuesday night.

Josh was 6 of 11 from inside the arc, 3 of 6 from outside. He hit 7 of his 9 free throw attempts for his 28 counters. Gonzaga-bound Heytvelt also pulled down 6 boards, blocked 6 shots and got a steal. All this he did in front of Gonzaga assistant Leon Rice.

For his effort Josh is our "Stud-of-the-Day" for Tuesday.

Other notables include:

Baree Ward scored 29 as Mount Tahoma beat Skyview 74-64. Jon Bond hit for 24 in the loss.

Cleveland's Jason Pegues got a triple-double with 21 points, 12 boards and 11 dimes as the Eagles beat Foster 72-66.
