Narrows League heats it up Wednesday night

There wasn't a whole lot of hoops played Wednesday night but we still had some studly performances especially in the Narrows League. 6-8 senior Jake Beitinger super-sized his double-double and led the South Kitsap Wolves to a big win over North Kitsap.

Big Jake knocked down 24 points and grabbed an even dozen rebounds as South Kitsap remained virtually tied with Central Kitsap atop the Bridge Division. Jacob Gonzales scored 23 in the loss.

Central Kitsap suffered their first league loss as rival Olympic got the "W" 58-55 in overtime. CK is 4-1 in league play, South K 3-1. Brendan Campbell scored 15 and Chester Thomas added 14. Brice Brooks had 15 in the loss.

Colby Brewer and Bill Richardson scored 18 each as Shelton took care of Gig Harbor 53-46. Bill Forelli had 17 in the loss.

Bremerton got by Port Angeles 45-39. Senior guard Phil Houston came up big with 19 points. Future Tar Heel Marvin Williams had another d-d, scoring 14 and snagging 11 boards.

In the Bay Division Baree Ward scored 21 and Mount Tahoma stayed unbeaten at 9-0, taking Stadium 91-45.

8-2 Bellarmine came back to beat Olympia 59-55. Thomas Ward went off, scoring 26. Oly kept it close with a 20-9 second quarter run but the Lions kicked it up a notch down the stretch for the "W."

Marcus Hinton had 31 as Wilson capped Capital 62-42.
