Kevin Field heads to WCC

Former Wilson Ram star Kevin Field, a manly 6-11, 265-pound center, has transferred from PAC-10 Oregon State University and will be playing his final two seasons of college hoops in the West Coast Conference.

Field will be balling for Coach Michael Holton's Portland Pilots. As a sophomore for the Beavers Field averaged 1.3ppg with 1.0 rebounds. He played in 19 games averaging 4.6 minutes per contest.

At Wilson "Big Kev" was a four-year letterman and two-year team captain. He was a member of the Seattle Times 2002 4A Washington All-State team as well as a member of the Tacoma News-Tribune All-Area first team and second team all-state teams. Field was named as the Ram's team MVP during both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior Kevin averaged 18.3 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.7 blocked shots, and 2.4 assists and shot 45 percent from three-point range. He was selected to play in the Northwest Shootout and WIBCA All-State games following his senior season.

Field had also visited WCC rival Santa Clara before committing to the Pilots.
