3A notes:

7 of the last 8, and 10 of the last 12 state champions have come from the SeaKing District. As well, 5 of the last 6 runners-up have come from SeaKing.

Rainier Beach has been to the championship game 4 years in a row.

Division-1 signees in the tournament include Josh Wilson (Mark Morris/Northern Arizona University), Mitch Johnson (O'Dea/Stanford), Conor Mullen (O'Dea/Cornell), Terrence Williams (Rainier Beach/University of Louisville), James Morgan (Rainier Beach/University of San Francisco), Garrison Carr (Issaquah/American University), Tavita Pritchard (Clover Park/Stanford football).

O'Dea Coach Phil Lumpkin and Rainier Beach head man Mike Bethea have both won three state titles at their respective schools.

Watch for Clover Park Coach Mel Ninnis to once again lead the "Best Dressed" category.

Sedro Woolley makes it to state in Coach Scott Campbell's second season as a head coach. Campbell's older brother Lance played on a state championship squad at Lynden while younger brother Mark played in a championship game at Mount Vernon. Scott played his prep ball at Ferndale and his college hoops at SPU. He was a girl's assistant at traditional powerhouse Oregon City, Oregon before taking the Cub's head job last season.

Dome Dogs are a staple but you might also give the restaurant overlooking the court upstairs a try. They have great burgers, excellent fish and chips and some awesome gumbo in a sour dough bowl. On Friday the clam chowder in the Northeast corner concession stand is tough to beat.
