Friday Night Spotlight

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in you area for almost anyone in the state…

Thursday Night
Auburn vs. Federal Way, 7pm, Federal Way
This is a very intruiging game to me. Federal Way is my favorite in the SPSL North this season. However, Auburn is a bit of an unknown coming up from 3A. They fared very well in 3A and have quite a few returning players. Federal Way should not take this game likely.

Friday Night
Prosser vs. Redmond, 7pm, Redmond
QB David Gilbertson leads Redmond against pass happy Prosser in a non-conference showdown. Should be a high scoring affair.

Mt. Spokane vs Mead, 8pm, ALBI
Rivaly matchup and my game to watch in the GSL this season. Mt. Spokane should be a great team in 3A this season. Mead provides a good matchup and heated opponent for them.

Rogers vs. Bethel, 7pm, Bethel
Rogers is many peoples choice for the best team in the SPSL South, my choice is Bethel. New running back Isaac Winters should provide a spark for Bethel as they are tested by a solid Rogers defense. Statement game early in the season.

Capital vs. O'Dea, 7pm, Capital
O'Dea takes one of the most talented rosters down to Capital this weekend. I think this game goes to O'Dea but the game being at Capital makes it closer than the talent would idicate.

Saturday Night
Kentwood vs. Kennedy, 5pm, Qwest
What I think will be the best game of the Emerald City Kickoff Classic. Should be a matchup of Kennedy's skill position players versus Kentwood's line. Kennedy is going to dominate the Seamount league. For Kentwood this could be a statement game to the rest of the SPSL.

These are just a few of the many great games in the state this weekend. Get excited, football season is here…
