Friday Night Spotlight

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in you area for almost anyone in the state…

This is the first week that I haven't included a Thursday or a Saturday game, Friday night is just that big. There are great matchups in almost every league all around the state. Unbeaten teams are facing off both on the west and eastside…

Friday Night

#1 Skyline vs. #5 Issaquah, 7pm, Issaquah
I hope this game lives up to the hype. Part of me could see Skyline just running away with this, I hope that doesn't happen. Both teams are undefeated, are rivals, and this is for the conference championship, no pressure. The atmosphere at the game should be great, I'll be there taking it in and I hope some of you are there as well.

#2 Ferris vs. #8 Central Valley, 7pm, Central Valley
This is the other argument for game of the year. There has been a lot of discussion around the quaterback for Ferris QB Connor Halliday. Some people say he will return this week, others say he is out until the playoffs. Either way this will be a good game and should decide the 4A GSL champ.

#10 Bothell vs. Inglemoor, 7pm, Pop Keeney
Bothell can not afford to have a let down after a big win vs. Woodinville. A loss to Inglemoor would set up a three way tie atop the KingCo standings. If Bothell plays like they did last week I see them making easy work of Inglemoor.

Lindbergh vs. Kennedy, 7pm, Kennedy
Lindbergh hasn't beated Kennedy in 22 years. This year they have a good offense and will need every bit of it. Both teams are undefeated in league play and the winner should roll to a league title.

Jackson vs. Mariner, 7pm, Jackson
WesCo South title is on the line. Jackson has been an impressive offensive force this season. They have a loaded backfield that I see being too much for Mariner. If Mariner can pull the upset they would take over the South division lead. With only a few games left in the season the South division pucture still isn't very clear.

#3 Bellevue vs. Juanita, 7pm, Juanita
Juanita has been a suprising team this season. They could make a huge statement with a win over Bellevue. With one conference loss they trail both Liberty and the wolverines. A win would set up a possible three way tie scenario with Bellevue beating Liberty. It will all come down to stopping Bellevue, unfortunately that is easier said than done.

Kentwood vs. Federal Way, 7pm, Kentwood
Kentwood desperately needs a win against a Federal Way team that has been rolling since getting healthy. With another loss, Kentwood would likely find itself on the outside looking in when it comes to playoff time. Federal Way would essentially lock up the #2 seed out of the North with a win.

Mt. Spokane vs. East Valley, 8pm, Albi
Who will be the 3A GSL champ? This game will tell us. Don't let the teams records sway you as both play in a predominantly 4A division. Win or lose both will factor heavily when it comes playoff time.

After this weekend there will be a clear cut favorite in almost every conference. ESP will be out at the Skyline/Issaquah game Friday night. Please post updates to any of these other contests that you are able to take in. Have a fun weekend of football…
