Two storied programs face off in Spokane this weekend. Ferris is still rebounding from a loss to LC a few weeks ago. Pasco should be prepared as they always are in the playoffs. Another twist to the eastside games is bragging rights between the two conferences. Will the GSL teams show their league deserved more than two playoff spots or will the CBBN prove they deserved their four.
Mt. Spokane vs. Hanford, 7pm, Richland
These teams are hard to judge as they both play in conferences with 4A teams. The amount of losses they have is not always and indicator of their quality as 3A teams. I think that Mt. Spokane will pull this out as they have been tested all year by the quality 4A teams in the GSL.
Edmonds-Woodway vs. Kentwood, 7pm, French Field
Edmonds-Woodway comes in as the lower seed but I have them as a favorite. Their physical attack behind RB Tony Heard should be able to wear out the KW defense. KW is the two seed in the SPSL North which was down in quality this year. Should be a fun one to watch.
Issaquah vs. Marysville-Pilchuck, 7pm, MP
Marysville-Pillchuck had a perfect season. What did that earn them? Issaquah, and the toughest round one matchup of any conference winner in the state. Three weeks and two losses ago everyone was talking about how Issaquah might be the best team in the state. I think MP wins this one but it won't be easy. I think this is the game of the week.
Central Kitsap vs. Snohomish, 7pm, Snohomish
Due to tie breakers Snohomish grabbed the #2 seed out of their conference. That being said they have 3 losses and could be vulnerable to CK coming up and beating them at their house. This should be a very close game.
Camas vs. Kennedy, 7pm, Kennedy
This game would be a lock if we knew the condition of Kennedy quarterback Nolan Washington. He sprained his knee two weeks ago and may be good to go in the game. If he can't go, things get interesting. Tre Watson will be asked to carry the load for Kennedy.
Have a fun weekend of playoff football…
