Friday Night Spotlight: Quarterfinals

Here is a list of the top playoff games in the state of Washington this coming weekend...

Quarterfinals! Because we are so deep into the playoffs all games should be fun to watch. I have picked out he games I predict being the most competitive…

Friday Night
Ferris vs. Central Valley , 7pm, Central Valley
This is the only 4A game played on Friday. I think this could be the closest of any game in the state. These teams are conference rivals and faced of earlier this season with Ferris barely beating CV. The winning team will be the sole team left to represent the eastside.

Eastside Catholic vs. Lakes, 7pm, Mt. Tahoma
Both teams have great records and tons of talent. I think that as the home team Lakes has a slight edge. This should be a fast paced and competitive game. Lakes has been very successful in causing turnovers this season so eastside will have to be cautious with the football.

Liberty vs. Bellevue, 7:30pm, Bellevue
Like Ferris and CV, these teams are conference rivals and met earlier this season. Bellevue won pretty handily the first time they met. However, I think that seeing the Wolverine offense can only help you the next time around. I think that Bellevue still wins but the game is closer than last time around.

Blaine vs. Lynden, 7pm, Lynden
Battle up north! The teams are close in location so the stadium should be packed for a Friday night showdown. I think that Lynden walks away with the victory but it should be a hard fought game.

Saturday Night

Game of the Week
Auburn vs. Skyline, 7pm, Skyline
The only two unbeaten teams in 4A football face off. This could have easily been the state title game, had the two teams not been placed near each other in the bracket. Auburn brings up a physical running game that has punished every team they have faced. Skyline comes in with the state's most vaunted passing attack.

Bothell vs. Issaquah, 7pm, Issaquah
Issaquah has repeat on their mind while Bothell comes in looking for redemption. These teams faced of week one, with Issaquah winning. Since then, Bothell has been one of the hottest teams in the state. We will see if time has changed who is the better team in this game.

Ferndale vs. Union, 7pm, Issaquah
Two 3A undefeated teams face off down in Vancouver. Ferndale is the favorite in most peoples mind. But, will the long drive south affect them at all? Well just have to wait and see.

Have a fun weekend of playoff football…
