One of the state's most recognized players faces off against a cross town rival in this matchup. Kentwood's Josh Smith is one of the premier big men in the country, but this game should come down to his teammates. Kentridge is likely to swarm Smith. Forcing his teammates to step up and score when they get open looks. Smith will get his points and boards but this outcome should be determined by the other players on the floor.
Decatur comes into the game as the favorite both to win and take the SPSL South. With a win Puyallup could make a very big statement and claim the inside track to a league title. Puyallup will have to focus on stopping the trio of Marcus Tibbs, Jordan McCloud and Jerron Smith who all average over 14 points a game. Killian Larsen and Jay Balmer pace the Puyallup attack.
Rainier Beach is likely too deep for Nathan Hale to contend with. That being said Hale has two players scoring nearly 20 points a game. If they can slow the game down they may have a chance to contend with the boys from Beach. I still see Beach running away with this one but it should be one of the better challenges Beach sees before their showdowns with Dominguez and Franklin.
