Games of the Week (1/14)

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in your area for almost anyone in the state…

King Holiday Hoopfest, 1/19 9:30am, University of Washington

This will be the best day of basketball this season besides the state tournament. Seven of the top ten teams in the state will be playing throughout the day. If you weren't already convinced to attend the day will feature big time players including Abdul Gaddy, Josh Smith, Tony Wroten, Peyton Siva and others. Look at the full schedule here.

#2 Federal Way (10-1) vs. #9 Kentwood (7-3), 1/17 7:30pm, Federal Way

Federal Way knocked off Kentwood earlier in the year 61-53. Kentwood likely needs to win this game on the road if they want any chance of winning the SPSL North. I don't see the Conquerors pulling this one off on the road, Federal Way rolls.

Curtis (10-3) vs. Puyallup (9-1), 1/17 7:30pm, Curtis

Puyallup came out of nowhere this week with a huge win over Decatur. Now the South appears to be theirs to lose. This game should not be taken lightly as they have to on the road to a Curtis team that appears to be the most likely team to challenge Decatur and Puyallup for the league crown.

Lake Stevens (9-2) vs. Stanwood (6-4), 1/20 7:30pm, Stanwood

Battle of #1 and #3 in the Wesco Conference standings so far this season. Stanwood can pull even with Lake Stevens with the win. A win by Lake Stevens would separate themselves and Marysville from the rest of the pack.

Auburn (8-2) vs. #8 Kentridge (7-4), 1/17 7:30pm, Kentridge

Auburn edged Kentridge at home earlier this season. The Chargers have home court advantage this time and need to win if they want to keep up with the likes of Federal Way and Kentwood in conference. Auburn would make a huge statement in beating the Chargers twice, should be a good game to watch.

Hope you enjoy the games! Feel free to post any reports from games you go to on the message boards…
