Friday Night Spotlight

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in your area for almost anyone in the state…

A great week one has led us into a week two that might be the best all year. There are major conference games in nearly every league. Ferris versus G-Prep figures to be the best game in Spokane all year…
Friday Night
#4 Ferris vs. #8 Gonzaga Prep, 8pm, Albi
This is our first matchup of two top ten teams and my pick for game of the week. This early season game could decide the conference title. G-Prep will try and win on the ground while Ferris will air the ball out. This should be a great game to watch if you are over on the eastside.

Bethel vs. #10 Curtis , 7pm, Curtis
This is turning out to be a mini tournament in the SPSL South. The four favorites faced off last week with Bethel beating Rogers and Curtis beating Graham-Kapowsin. This week we will see who can grab the early conference lead by starting 2-0.

Kentwood vs. #7 Auburn, 7pm, French Field
Kentwood snuck by Central Kitsap last week, while Auburn blew out Federal Way. This game should be a good gauge to tell us where Kentwood is as a team. I may be surprised, but I see Auburn rolling in this one.

#6 Lakes vs. Peninsula, 7pm, Lakes
Peninsula may come as close as anyone to beating Lakes this season.

Saturday Night
#2 Bellevue vs. Katy (Texas), 5pm, Katy
Bellevue travels south to face a Texas power. A win against Katy would be a huge feather in the Wolverines cap. Katy graduated some talent from last season's championship team but should still provide plenty of a challenge.

O'Dea vs. #3 Bothell, 7pm, Bothell
In name and on paper this appears to be a big matchup. I think that when all is said and done Bothell will win big. However, few programs can rival the name and tradition that O'Dea possesses well see just how much that is worth on the field.

Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a fun weekend of football…
