Friday Night Spotlight

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in your area for almost anyone in the state…

This has been a season filled with exciting games. It continues this weekend as many of the top in state programs face out of state oppoents. #1 Skyline, #2 Bellevue, and #5 Union all face teams from the state of California. See what else is on tap…

Friday Night
#1 Skyline vs. Oaks Christian (Cal.), 8pm, Albi
This matchup has received the most attention of any game this weekend. This game has at least 11 players with D-1 offers. This should be a competitive matchup that is highlighted by a QB battle that features two of the west coast's best.

#8 Curtis vs. Rogers, 7pm, Rogers
Curtis could come close to locking up the SPSL South early in the season with a win. A win puts them at 3-0 with victories over their 3 biggest rivals. A loss turns the South back into the mess that it was last year.

Federal Way vs. Kentridge, 7pm, French Field
Federal Way claims to have not been at full strength during their loss to Auburn. They can't afford any excuses for their game vs Kentridge. With a loss, FW would fall to 1-2 and lose hope of securing a playoff spot. KR could pull to 3-0 setting up a huge matchup with Auburn next week.

Kentwood vs. Tahoma, 7pm, Tahoma
Tahoma is a bit of a mystery after beating two of the lesser teams in the SPSL. They could prove they are for real with a win over KW. KW needs to rebound after a tough loss to Auburn last week. Another loss would send them to 0-2 in league.

Woodinville vs. #9 Eastlake, 7pm, Eastlake
Woodinville had a dissapointing performace last week. This week, they are matched up against a talented Eastlake team that has been flying under the radar most of this season.

Saturday Night
#5 Union vs. Foothill (Cal.), 5pm, Qwest
Foothill is a talented team from California facing the 3A runner-up from last seaosn in Union. This is a rare opportunity to see Union play for fans living in the Seattle area.

#2 Bellevue vs. Grant (Cal.), 8pm, Qwest
Bellevue lost to a very talented team from Texas this past weekend. The schedule doesn't give them a break as they have to regroup and face the defending California open divinsion champion Grant.

Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a fun weekend of football…
