Friday Night Spotlight

Here is a list of the top games in the state of Washington this weekend. Should be a game in your area for almost anyone in the state…

This is probably the worst week for matchups this season. However, this is high school football and you never know what can happen under the lights. Here are the best picks for this weekend…

Friday Night
Kentridge vs. Tahoma, 7:00pm, Tahoma
These two teams are fighting for second place behind Auburn and for a playoff spot. Both have very tough games left on the schedule and a loss here would severely jeopardize any playoff hopes. A Kentridge win would set up a huge matchup with rival Kentwood in two weeks for second place.

Bethel vs. Graham-Kapowsin, 8pm, Everett Memorial
The SPSL South has been all but decided. Curtis has beaten every team in the top half of the conference. Bethel and GK are the two teams in the hunt for second place. The big question is whether or not GK can stop RB Anthony Meray. If they can shut him down they have a good chance to win this game.

#1 Skyline vs. Eastlake, 7pm, Eastlake
We have two big KingCo rivalries this week. Both are traditionally good games but look like they could be blowouts this season. Eastlake started the year on fire and found their way onto many state rankings lists. They have lost two straight and I think they get a third this weekend.

#2 Bothell vs. Woodinville, 7pm, Pop Keeney
This annual matchup has been one of the best in the state the last few years. However, Woodinville has had a tough season so far. This would be the type of win that turns your season around. I don't see it happening for the Falcons, I just think Bothell has too much talent.

Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a fun weekend of football…
