ESP Interview: Jordan Patterson

ESP catches up with Lakes LB Jordan Patterson to talk about his Senior season at Lakes and future college plans…

Lakes completed an undefeated regular season last night by pounding rival Clover Park. Lakes has so many talented players that some fly a bit under the radar. One player that you want to make sure you see is LB Jordan Patterson, ESP caught up with him after the big win…

What are your thoughts on the game last night? Blowout win over your rival and parents night?
It was great, we haven't lost to them in my four years. It was the 100th win for coach Miller and parents night so that was cool.

What do you think has made your team so successful this season?
I would say hard work. Lifting weights in the off-season has paid off. Just bonding as a team and practicing hard… going all out all the time is our motto.

What has made you personally so successful this season, what have you added to your game?
I really worked on my speed and size since last year. I think I am better at reading the offense and making plays.

What are your thoughts about the playoffs, any goals?
We feel confident headed into the playoffs and winning state is our goal. We know we have to take it one game at a time.

Where are you at right now as far as height and weight?
I am 6'1" and 225 lbs.

What offers do you have at this point?
Harvard

What position are they recruiting you for?
Linebacker, inside or outside.

Have you been hearing from other schools?
I have been talking with Yale a lot, almost once a week. I have been hearing from a few Mountain West schools, mostly Air Force and Wyoming.

Is there a specific school you are really interested in, you thought about committing?
Not really, looking forward to playing football anywhere I can.

When do you plan on choosing which school to attend?
Sometime after the season... I'll wait until then to take visits.

How are you as far as GPA? Have you taken the SAT?
I am taking the SAT this Saturday… I have a 3.78 GPA

What are some areas where you think that your game can improve?
Definitely speed and explosiveness, get better at exploding through tackles. Continue to get better at reading offenses.

Well keep an eye on Jordan as the playoffs move on and keep you all informed as his recruiting process winds down…
