4A/ 3A Semifinal Breakdowns

ESP breaks down each of the semifinal matchups in the state tournament. Predicating a winner in each game…

Skyview @ Ferris, 11/28 1pm, Albi (Spokane)
I really don't know who I like in this game. After going over and over the matchup in my head I decided it wasn't safe to pick against Ferris. I don't know for sure that Ferris will be the better team this weekend. I am however confident that they will find a way to win this game. Having a Pac-10 quarterback leading your team never hurt anyone either.

Skyline @ Bothell, 11/28 7pm, Tacoma Dome
Rematch! You think just maybe Skyline has had this game in mind since their loss at Pop Keeney about a month ago? I do, I think they have been salivating over the idea that they could get a rematch with their conference rival. I think Skyline not only wants to beat Bothell, but beat them badly. I don't see that happening, but I do see Skyline winning. I think it is too hard to beat a team like Skyline twice in the same season. Skyline needs to get the ball to Kasen early. I have been at both of their losses this season and it seems like they wait until they are about to be out of the game to start throwing it up to him. If you get him enough touches he will make a big play that could change the game in your favor.

Liberty @ Lakes, 11/27 1pm, Tacoma Dome
I think Lakes has too many weapons for Liberty to contain. Mainly I don't see Liberty shutting down the Lancers running attack. The often overlooked Lakes defense showed how good it is this past weekend in shutting down Mt. Spokane. Liberty QB Trey Wheeler will have to deal with the most talented defensive backfield he has faced this season. I think it all adds up to a Lakes victory.
Lakes 28, Liberty 7

Bellevue @ Union, 11/27 7pm, Tacoma Dome
Rematch #2 for the week! This one has been brewing since the state title game last year where Bellevue upended Union 35-6. I don't seen Union having any better luck this season. Bellevue kills you with the long runs, you can play them well for two downs then they bust a run up the middle for 60. I see Union making it more competitive this season, but unfortunately for them, the same result as last year.
Bellevue 28, Union 14
