ESP Interview: Diondre Toms

Lindbergh safety talks about recruiting and his recent visit to Washington...

Lindbergh safety Diondre Toms took a visit to the University of Washington yesterday and liked what he saw.

"We toured around the school. We hung out with my cousin Johri Fogerson and saw coach Sark. I was walking and talking with coach Mills."

Toms is a playmaker on both sides of the ball but the Huskies like what they see on defense.

"They are recruiting me as a safety. They said I need to put on 10-15 pounds, but that's fine. I like defense, I'm a defensive guy."

When does Toms expect to make a college decision?

"I want to wait, probably until the start of the football season."

Do you have a favorite or a school you would like to get an offer from?

"Well, I've liked UW since I was a little kid. I like UW a lot; they are one of my top schools. I'm getting recruited really hard by top schools. But gonna look in the Pac-10, I want to sign in the Pac-10."

Later in the interview Toms revealed that he had been recently offered by Washington State.

"Coach Paul Wulff and Travis Niekamp came up to my school and offered me. They also want me to play safety."

Toms is a player to keep an eye on as more offers are likely coming in and as he gets closer to his senior season and making his college decision.
