Falcons Offer Jenkins

The Air Force Academy has offered one of the Evergreen State's biggest playmakers…

Renton (Wash.) Liberty playmaker Chandler Jenkins came home from a camping trip last weekend to find a pleasant surprise. It was a written offer from the Air Force Academy. The Falcons are the third school to offer Jenkins, who already holds offers from Eastern Washington and Wyoming. ESP caught up with Chandler to ask him about the offer…

What was your reaction when you found out you got the offer from Air Force?
I was surprised and real excited… It is a big deal because I know now that I will be playing D-1 football next year. I have communicated with the coaches quite a bit, but I didn't expect the offer to come this week.

Whhich coach has been handling your recruiting do far?
Coach Sampson, the DB coach. I think he handles all of the Northwest.

What position are they looking for you to come in and play?
I think it's called the Z-back. It is their slot receiver position.

Have you made any plans to take an official visit?
This happened so fast that I haven't set up anything yet… but I would like to get down there and see what college life is like at an academy.

How do you feel about the service aspect of AFA?
I need to learn more, I don't know that much about the academy. So I would like to find out more about it.

What is your timetable look like for deciding on a school?
Definitely waiting it out… I want to see what offers come in before I make a decision.
