La Crosse Native Pitching Well in Minors

La Crosse Central graduate R.J. Seidel is fine-tuning his pitching game and moving up the Milwaukee Brewers' minor league system.

Wisconsin native R.J. Seidel compiled a 9-5 record as a starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers' Class A minor league team in West Virginia this season.

The right-handed pitcher is scheduled to start for the Power as they open the South Atlantic League playoffs Wednesday night.

The 2006 La Crosse Central High School graduate was selected by the Brewers in the 16th round of the June 2006 first-year player draft.

Seidel finished the regular season with a 4.51 earned-run average. However, he rebounded from a rough stretch to post a 6-1 record after the All-Star break and a 2.22 ERA in August.
