Sophomore Melissa Baudhuin, an Oshkosh West product who competes at Winona State University, was named the specialist of the week. She placed first in the balance beam (9.35) and floor exercise (9.225) and captured second on the vault (9.125) in a dual meet against Gustavus Adolphus. The Warriors won 176.925 to 171.225 in the first meet of the year for both schools.
UW-Whitewater junior Justine Weyer of Germantown earned top honors for all-around, winning the title with a score of 37.8 during the Warhawks' 180.4 to 174.85 dual meet verdict against UW-Oshkosh.
Weyer claimed first in all four events--9.45 in the vault, 9.425 in the uneven bars, 9.40 in the balance beam and 9.525 on the floor exercise—to register the sixth-highest overall total in school's record book.
UW-Stevens Point sophomore forward Britta Petersen of Luck earned the award after recording three double-digit scoring performances in helping the Pointers grab three lopsided victories.
Petersen connected on 10 of 14 field goals and scored a career-best 23 points during a 75-46 win over UW-Platteville, hauling in six rebounds, handing out four assists and blocking three shots.
She also registered 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in UW-Stevens Point's 80-39 drubbing of Lawrence University and tallied 11 points and four blocked shots during a 71-51 decision against UW-River Falls.
Also nominated were UW-Eau Claire senior guard Heidi Arciszewski of Thorp, UW-La Crosse senior forward Mackenzie Hunter of Eau Claire Regis, UW-Oshkosh sophomore guard Laura Ebbens of Appleton West, UW-Platteville senior forward Lisa Grantman of Lomira, UW-Superior freshman forward Hailey Hart of Osseo-Fairchild and UW-Whitewater junior guard Kelsey Hendrickson of Monroe.
UW-La Crosse guard Trevor Stratton, a junior from Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, earned weekly honor after averaging 27.5 points as the Eagles split two in two league contests.
Stratton registered back-to-back career single-game scoring efforts, tallying 27 points during a 92-86 loss at No. 9-ranked UW-Whitewater before posting 28 points in leading the hosts to an 83-69 triumph against UW-Stout.
He finished 8 of 15 from the floor and 9 of 10 at the free-throw line versus the Warhawks, adding seven rebounds, two steals and an assist. Stratton then responded with an 11-of-14 effort from the field, including 5 of 7 from beyond the arc, against the Blue Devils. He chipped in four boards, three assists and one steal.
