Forever Flag Display
When Handyman Club of America member Bob Phelan of Amherst, Ohio, was asked to construct a flag display in memory of a veteran, he didn’t have to think twice before accepting the challenge. “Veterans have always had a special place in my heart. They serve our country and provide us our freedom,” Bob says. He made the display out of cherry and designed it to accommodate the triangle-shape folded flag. He had a piece of glass cut to size for the front and mounted the case on brass rods. At the base, Bob added a brass nameplate provided by the veteran’s family.
