2 lb. ground meat loaf mix (veal, pork, beef)
1/2 cup pine nuts
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
4 teaspoons tandoori spice mix*
2 teaspoons kosher (coarse) salt
1/4 cup ice water
2 medium onions, sliced (1/2 inch)
1. Heat grill. In large bowl, stir together ground meat, pine nuts, cilantro, tandoori spice mix and salt; stir in ice water.
2. Divide meat mixture into 6 pieces. Shape each piece into 5-inch oval patty. Place patties and onions on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals; cover grill.
3. Grill 10 minutes or until centers of patties are no longer pink and onions are crisp-tender and slightly charred, turning once. Serve patties topped with onions.
TIP *Look for tandoori spice mix in the spice section or ethnic section of the grocery store.
