Put A Fork In It

The next time you need to segment oranges for a salad, grab a fork along with a knife. Together they'll help you get the job done neatly and efficiently.

Here's what to do: Slice off a small portion of the top and bottom of the orange so it sits flat on a cutting board. Stick a fork in the top; then cut the peel from the flesh, turning the fork--and the orange--as you work your way around the fruit. Once the peel is removed, slice between the membranes to segment the orange.
