Picked I don't know how many squash last Thursday night. Yellow straight necks and green zucchinis. I had no idea they were producing yet. Took most of them to work and sold them at 50 cents per pound. The big boys for $1 each. I can't see charging so much per pound for the giants. Not many people want them that big. I can't blame them. Brought a lot of the big boys back home.
Saturday morning, I got up at 7AM to go get green beans before it got hot. Piddled around and got outside around 9AM. Spent 5 hours picking 40 pounds of green beans. 200 row feet. To give you a visual, that's about 4 5-gallon buckets just full. Spent 7 or 8 hours Sunday picking stem ends off while watching TV. Hope to get them canned this week in the evenings. I hope to get at least 14 quarts. That would be 2 loads. I may just eat the rest once I see how many are left. Then I start round 2 next weekend. :-) Should be much smaller. I might take the second batch to work.
