I've made 11 pints of Zesty Salsa from The Ball Blue Book so far. 5 mild & 5 medium, ate the other pint. Everything came out of my garden, down to the cilantro.. It took everything I reaped. Next time I should have enough hot peppers to make hot salsa the way I like it. Gotta make the mild for my Ma, ya know.!
The few years that I've canned, I've learned a good system that makes it easier.
Just about had my fill of fried squash & zucchini bread. I even blanched, vacuum packed & froze some. My squash plants have died out tho.
Prolly have alot of carrot cake this Fall...
Also I have one Tabasco plant to make hot pepper flakes. I did this 2 or 3 years ago with 3 plants and still have a little bit left. I reaped 2,784 peppers from those 3 plants throughout that season. I froze them as I reaped them, then dehydrated them 1 batch at a time as I needed them. Worked out real well.
I'm also growing Hot Cherry, hot Jalapeno, Bell, Hot Hungarian (banana type), & Serrano.
Determinant & Indeterminate tomatoes. No Cherry Tomatoes this year.
This is my first time growing herbs. Cilantro already bolted... :(
