How about some input on the Butler/Hutch game? It seems the Butler posters think the game is a foregone conclusion, but why exactly? I note that Butler 79 posted that Butler is a “shoo-in” to go undefeated through the conference championship and that Irish has assumed that Butler will play the loser of the Garden/Coffeyville game.
Give me some insight. It does seem that Butler is somewhat stronger based on the comparative game stats. However, I haven’t seen Butler in person and doubt any of the Butler guys have seen Hutch. I am just going by what I have seen by watching Hutch and reading on this site. What do you people around the league think who have seen both teams. Hutch has no realistic shot at all?
Hutch struggled with Garden, Ft Scott, and even Dodge. The scores of the Dodge and Ft games were not indicative of the offensive struggle for Hutch. Butler blew these teams out from the get go (except for Ft) Hutch has had trouble with kickoff coverage (TD’s to Ville and Garden) and Butler looks strong there. Butler has a big play offense and Hutch early in the year was vulnerable to long pass plays. However…..The average Butler victory margin the last three games at Hutch is 9.66 points. Two of those games were to vastly inferior Hutch teams, not a statistically similar team like the current one. Is Butler going to blow them out based on history?
