NDSCS OL sets up first three visits

He and his teammate are two of the most heralded JUCO offensive linemen in the country and NDSCS OT Matt Williams (6-7, 290) has his first three official visits set. JCFootball.com got the scoop from the talented prospect recently in addition to how the start of his season has gone...

"Things have been going good," Williams told JCFootball.com in his trademark English accent. "We got off to a 1-0 start and this weekend we have Grand Rapids and they are a good team, but we have a good team too so it should be a good game."

Williams and teammate Jacob Fahrenkrug are two of the top JUCO offensive line prospects in the country with offers from several schools and Williams noted that he has three visits set up already.

"I'm visiting California on October 9th, Illinois on November 13th and Florida State on November 27th," Williams said. "I haven't decided who my final two visits will be to, but all of the three I'm definitely visiting have offered me and I will probably make my decision on the last two pretty soon here."

In addition to the three he's visiting, Williams also has offers from Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas and UCLA.

Williams, who hails from England originally, prepped at Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire and was a full-qualifier, however, he didn't get much in the way of recruiting attention, so he decided to head to a JC in order to see if he could garner some D-1 interest.

Williams said he plans to sit down with his coaches and family as the summer progresses and he'll narrow things down and then he'd like to take some visits before he makes a decision.

"I want to go through the process and enjoy it," Williams told JCFootball.com back in May. "I'm open to anyone and just want to take it slow and make sure I see all the schools I'm interested in before I decide."

Williams will graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
