Visits on hold for Butte's Wright

He's got three offers already and more D-1 programs looking his way, but Butte DT Ronnell Wright (6-3, 275) told recently that he will not take any visits until after the 2010 football season is complete...

"With the way we have our schedule, there aren't any bye weeks, so I'll have to take all of them after the season," Wright said. "I'll visit at least the three that have offered me and probably one or two more if they come on with offers."

The three schools that have extended offers Wright's way are Washington State, Arkansas State and North Texas with schools like Oklahoma State, SMU, UCLA, California, Texas A&M, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee and Georgia all showing interest.

"Washington State really wanted me up there to visit them before my season started, but I just couldn't get up there," Wright said. "I'll visit them once our season is over though.

"With Brandon Rankin and Steve (Hoffart) already up there, that makes it real appealing to go up there and see what they are all about."

Wright and the 4th-ranked Roadrunners got off to a good start last week beating Sierra, who came into the game ranked 10th in the state, 27-7.

"We got off to a good start, but we know we can play better," Wright admitted. "I had five or six tackles, but I didn't get any sacks. I'm just playing my game and not forcing things. If my guys make plays and it helps us win, it's all good."

This Saturday, Butte faces Feather River on the road.
