"We got off to a good start, but we had some stuff to overcome," Vaughn told JCFootball.com. "We struggled the first week, putting it all together, but last week against Reedley we were sharp and we beat a pretty good team 51-10."
Vaughn was the fourth receiver in CSM's sets last fall and hauled in 17 receptions for 238 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. This season, the talented and speedy wideout leads the Bulldogs with nine receptions for 147 yards and four touchdowns.
"I'm becoming a threat from anywhere," Vaughn noted. "I'm doing what I had hoped and expected of myself after working hard this summer, but you always feel you can do better for your team and yourself."
On the recruiting front, Vaughn has scheduled his first official visit and is eying three more schools to visit as well.
"I'm visiting Oregon the day after Thanksgiving (November 26th) for their game against Arizona," Vaughn noted. "I've heard they have a great gameday atmosphere, so I'm excited to get up there and see it.
"The coaches there are real cool and they are putting up big numbers offensively this year."
In addition to his heavy interest from the Ducks, Vaughn said he's got offers from Hawaii, Utah, Arizona and Arkansas State and will likely take visits to all those schools as well.
"I don't want to decide too early because I need to make sure I check everything out," Vaughn said. "I really don't think I will commit early and with our schedule, I'm going to have to take a couple of visits after my season."
This weekend Vaughn and the rest of the Bulldogs will face off against West Valley.
