Kilgore's Osunde still waiting patiently

This summer, one of the most intriguing JUCO DB prospects was Kilgore CB Junior Osunde (5-11, 195). Because of his team's 0-4 start, the talented cover man hasn't been getting a lot of attention, but one Mountain West school continues to pursue him and could be close to offering...

"It's been a tough start for our team, I won't lie," Osunde told recently. "I'm doing well individually, but it's all about our team right now and I'm doing what I can to help.

"We just have to start getting some wins and I think interest in me will pick up, but when you are 0-4, schools aren't going to be heading to see your team play."

So far this season, Osunde hasn't been thrown at much, but has posted 24 tackles, nearly 10 passes defensed and one interception.

"Teams aren't really throwing my way right now," Osunde said. "I take it as a sign of respect, but it is frustrating at times."

One school that has been in the mix with Osunde has been New Mexico and the Lobos have requested film from the first month of action.

"They want my film from the first four games, so I'm getting that ready to send to them," Osunde said. "They are close to offering me, but they haven't yet."

Also showing interest are Southern Miss, TCU and Ole Miss, although he hasn't spoken with any of the coaches from those schools since the start of the season.

Osunde taking one class this fall and will be able to sign with a school in December. He will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
