Harris off to a good start for Pierce

The L.A. Pierce passing attack has been potent so far this season and one of the trio of wideouts that makes things run smoothly is Tyrone Harris (6-3, 195). The talented receiver has put up solid numbers for the Brahmas this fall and he updated JCFootball.com on things including which WAC school is close to getting an official visit...

"We have three really good wide receivers out there and four if you count Nate Ingram our tight end," Harris told JCFootball.com. "Me and Damon Julian and Kenny (Davis) have all been making plays and keeping defenses off-balance and that's helped us be explosive."

For his part, Harris has hauled in 13 receptions for 250 yards and one touchdown while dealing with an injured AC joint in his right shoulder.

"It was real sore for a while, but I've been playing through it," Harris said. "It hurts, but it's nothing I can't deal with."

On the recruiting front, Harris still has the three offers he received during the summer -- from Hawaii, New Mexico State and Wisconsin -- and he said plans are in the works for him to visit one of those schools.

"My bye week is the first weekend of November and I was hoping to set up a visit to Hawaii that weekend," Harris said. "I'll see what I can do, but they will definitely get a visit and I'll probably set up visits to the other schools as well."

Harris said three new schools have also called and requested his transcripts and game film.

"I guess Cincinnati, Syracuse and Oklahoma State have all called looking for my film," Harris said. "I haven't talked to any of them yet, but they are the newest schools that are showing interest."

Harris completed enough summer courses to finish up his AA degree in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
