First offer comes in for GMC's James

Georgia Military's Micah James (6-4, 300) and Kaleb Broome could very well be the best JUCO tackle-tandem in the entire country. While Broome is already committed to South Carolina, James is just now starting to get noticed and hauled in his first official offer recently...

"I just got an offer from Memphis recently," James told JCFootball.com recently. "They came by and saw me in the spring and then they called and offered me about two weeks ago.

"Western Kentucky told me they were going to offer, but I haven't gotten that one yet and I have been getting pretty heavily recruited by Middle Tennessee, Georgia Southern, Louisiana Tech and Washington State.

"(Memphis) wants me to set up a visit and I'm definitely going to do that, but we're in the middle of our season right now, so I have to figure out the best time to do that."

While Broome holds down the right side of the line, James mans the all-important left tackle spot for the Bulldogs.

"I'm probably a better run-blocker, but I can definitely pass-block too," James noted. "When you run-block you can be aggressive pretty much all the time, but when you pass-block you have to be passive most of the time.

"Because I'm real aggressive, it can hurt me sometimes in pass-blocking, so I just have to rely on my fundamentals. I'm good at both, but run-blocking is definitely what I'm better at."

James is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
