DuPage's Buck leads by example

One linebacker who continues to put up big numbers this year is College of DuPage's Terran Buck (6-2, 234). The sur-tackling, athletic defender has had another solid season for the Chaparrals, but even with his productivity he's still waiting on that first official offer...

"Our season is going okay, but I think we could be playing better," Buck told JCFootball.com recently. "I feel like I'm playing pretty well and reading things well, but there's always something you can improve on."

As a freshman last fall, Buck, who played the weakside position for the Chaparrals, totaled 91 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, one sack and three interceptions for a team that went 5-5.

This season, Buck made the move inside and has posted 90 tackles, 3 sacks and 5 forced fumbles for a team that finished the regular season 5-4 and will take on Harper this weekend in the first round of the playoffs.

On the recruiting front, Buck said he's still hearing from the schools who have been recruiting him since the summer, but none have stepped up with an offer.

"I'm still hearing from everyone, Kansas State, Auburn, Ole Miss, UAB, Oregon State and Wisconsin and maybe a couple more, but none have offered," Buck said. "I'm not really focused on that though, at least not right now. I can take care of that once the season is over.

"Right now I'm about helping my team win and go as deep in the playoffs as we can get."

Buck is still on pace to finish his AA in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
