Williams having a great season for CCSF

As far as JUCO interior defensive linemen are concerned, there might not be a better prospect out there than City College of San Francisco DT Je'Marcus Williams (6-1, 270). This season the ultra-athletic and strong defender is putting up solid numbers along the Rams' defensive line and because of that recruiting might be ready to explode...

Williams prepped at St. Francis High School in Mountainview, California and signed with Charleston Southern.

"When I got there, it just didn't feel the same and didn't feel like the right decision," Williams told JCFootball.com recently. "When I came back I wanted to come to the best JC program I could and City always is on top."

In high school, Williams weighed in at over 330 pounds playing nose tackle, but he's had some financial difficulties and gotten into CCSF's outstanding strength and conditioning program and that's allowed him to trim down and be as explosive as any interior defensive lineman in the country.

"This season I have 38 tackles and 7.5 sacks," Williams said. "I usually play the three-tech in our scheme and I have a good combination of strength and speed and that's really helped me be successful this season."

Recruiting has been rather slow considering his athleticism and productivity, but that doesn't mean four-year schools haven't made some inquiries.

"It's been a little slow, but Auburn, Washington State and Kansas State all have called and I'm getting some stuff from UCLA too," Williams said. "I just want the chance to play ball and get my degree, so getting offered is a big deal for me, but I just have to be patient, play to the best of my abilities and get my degree and the rest is up to other people."

Williams will finish his AA in December and he will have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
