Highland DB getting ready to set up visits

After a winless season in 2009, Highland got two wins this season and part of that was due to the talent the current Scottie coaching staff has brought in. One of the fastest players on the team is CB Arias Lockheart (5-11, 180) and some four year schools have taken notice. Recently, the talented cover-corner updated JCFootball.com on things including which ones could get a visit very soon...

"It was a productive season for us," Lockheart told JCFootball.com. "I mean, of course we wanted to win more games and we wanted to make a bowl game, but we were winless last year and we came on this year and played well, so I think we definitely improved and things will only get better at Highland from here."

Lockheart was a two-year starter for the Scotties and this year finished with 33 tackles, two interceptions and 10 passes defensed while also forcing one fumble and recovering another.

On the recruiting front, Lockheart has two offers and more could be on the way.

"Right now, my two offers are from Indiana State and Alcorn State," Lockheart said. "New Mexico State is really starting to recruit me hard and I feel pretty confident they are going to offer me pretty soon and Utah State is close too.

"I'm working on setting up a visit to New Mexico State and the coach I talked to from there, he told me he wanted to offer me, but he had to show the head coach my film before they could do that."

Lockheart is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

We'll continue to keep track of his progress and we'll update news as it happens.
