MAC school offers Chaffey LB

This season, Chaffey LB Dallas Kelley (6-0, 225) proved to be one of the top tacklers in the California JUCO ranks and his performance has resulted in an offer from a MAC school, his first, and interst from a couple other D-1 programs...

"Things are really picking up now," Kelley told "I just got an offer from Eastern Michigan and I might be visiting out there real soon -- either this weekend or next weekend.

"I'm also working on getting in touch with UNLV and San Diego State and I'm getting my film out to a lot of schools right now."

Kelley had a solid freshman campaign in 2009, leading the Panthers with 74 tackles while also notching 3.5 sacks and garnering First Team All-Conference honors and this season he followed that up by posting over 80 tackles as well as 13.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick as a sophomore in 2010 and earned All-Conference honors for the second-straight season.

Kelley was a standout prep at Norco High School in California and signed with Portland State, but once head coach Jerry Glanville stepped down, he decided he needed a change of scenery.

"Things just weren't right for me there," Kelley admitted back in the spring.

Besides his outstanding Football I.Q., Kelley also possesses the overall strength and athleticism necessary to be successful, posting a 4.56 forty time, a 4-flat short-shuttle and a 345-pound bench press.

A solid student, Kelley has already completed his AA degree and can sign with a school in December. Wherever he ends up, Kelley will have two years to play two once he arrives on campus.
