Brown getting closer to making a decision

Recruiting continues to move along at a steady pace for Chabot DE Sean Brown (6-5, 245). This past weekend he took a trip to New Mexico State and he'll visit two Sun Belt schools over the next two weeks before making a decision on where he continue his college football career...

"I visited New Mexico State and really liked the school and the program a lot while I was there," Brown told recently. "I really enjoyed meeting the staff and talking to them and just hanging out with the players, it was a really good experience for me."

Brown said his sit down with head coach Dewayne Walker was also eye-opening.

"He's such a great coach and he likes to be aggressive and he said that's one reason they like me," Brown noted. "He said they need to get more pressure on the quarterback and they think I could come in and be real successful doing that for them."

In addition to his offer from the Aggies, Brown also claims offers from Utah State, North Texas, Arkansas State, Stony Brook and Miami (OH) and will visit two of those schools before he makes a decision on where he will continue his college football career.

"I'm visiting North Texas on December 11th and Arkansas State on December 18th and I might try and squeeze in a visit to Miami if I can," Brown said. "Those are the main schools I'm focused on and I feel like I really can't go wrong in where I decide to be, but I want to make sure I see all of them so I can have all the facts when I make my commitment."

As a freshman in 2009, Brown was a playmaker off the edge for Chabot posting 20 tackles and 4 sacks in three games before suffering an injury and this fall, in five games, he racked up over 20 tackles and 5 sacks, but a concussion forced him to shut things down before the end of the season.

After he takes his two visits, Brown said he will sit down with his family and make his decision and then plans to sign at some point this month. Wherever he ends up, he will have three years to play two the moment he arrives in January.
