Brown makes it official and commits to NMSU

We recently spoke with Chabot DE Sean Brown (6-5, 250) and he had let it be known he was close to making a decision on where he would continue his college football career. Well, on Monday afternoon he decided he'd seen enough and called the New Mexico State coaches to let them know he wanted to be an Aggie...

"I committed to New Mexico State today," Brown told "It was everything about the program and the coaching staff that just made it the right place for me."

Brown said he called the Aggie coaches and told them Monday afternoon about his decision and they couldn't have been happier.

"(Dewayne Walker) is such a great coach and he likes to be aggressive and he said that's one reason they like me," Brown noted. "He said they need to get more pressure on the quarterback and they think I could come in and be real successful doing that for them.

"They were real excited about me committing. They just want met to get after the quarterback and be aggressive and that's what I feel I do best."

In addition to his offer from the Aggies, Brown also claims offers from Utah State, North Texas, Arkansas State, Stony Brook and Miami (OH) and will visit two of those schools before he makes a decision on where he will continue his college football career.

As a freshman in 2009, Brown was a playmaker off the edge for Chabot posting 20 tackles and 4 sacks in three games before suffering an injury and this fall, in five games, he racked up over 20 tackles and 5 sacks, but a concussion forced him to shut things down before the end of the season.

Brown will sign with the Aggies on December 15th, the first day of the mid-year signing period, and he will have three years to play two once he arrives in Las Cruces.
