WAC offer comes in for Kersten

El Camino OT Andrew Kersten (6-5, 295) got more good news this week when a rising WAC school decided to extend an offer to the hard-nosed offensive line prospect. JCFootball.com got a quick update on things including when he plans to visit his new suitor...

"New Mexico State just offered me," Kersten, who is currently in Minnesota working, told JCFootball.com. "They called me earlier this month and wanted some film on me and when I talked to them today, they told me that I had an offer and that they wanted me to visit.

"I'm going to take a trip there on January 7th to see the school and meet with the coaches and just get a feel for things there."

In addition to his newest offer, Kersten already had offers from the likes of Buffalo, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Southern Illinois, Western Carolina and Liberty and was getting heavy interest from Washington, Washington State, UNLV and SMU.

With all that attention, Kersten obviously has several solid options to choose from, but he said the Aggie offer could be just what he was looking for.

"I'm really excited to see what the school has to offer," Kersten said. "The coaches there are all high-energy and I love the style of offense they run.

"It's definitely an up-and-coming program and I'd say my interest in them is very high."

Kersten already has his AA degree, so he can sign with a school at any time and he will have two years to play two unless he gets a medical redshirt after missing the 2008 seaon with a broken ankle.
