Patience is a virtue for Pierce TE

One of the more physically gifted JUCO tight end prospects who remains unsigned is L.A. Pierce's Nate Ingram (6-3, 245) and late this month he plans to take some visits to the programs he's favoring in order to make a decision on where he will play football for the next two years...

"Things have been sorta slow, but this month they will be busy," Ingram told recently. "I've got some offers, like from New Mexico State and stuff, but I'm still just sorta waiting to see what other schools are wanting me too.

"There are some other schools, schools from BCS conferences who like me, but I'm not really wanting to name them right now because it's just talk at this point."

Besides his offer from New Mexico State, Ingram also has an offer from North Texas, however he said he doesn't expect to take a visit to see the Mean Green.

"My phone broke and I think they took that as me not wanting to visit them," Ingram said. "I'm not really sure where things stand with them, but right now I don't think I'm going to visit them."

As a freshman in 2009, Ingram finished second on the team with 39 receptions for 398 yards and two touchdowns and this past fall, the talented tight end finished fourth on the team with 28 receptions for 310 yards and seven more scores.

Ingram said he would like to sign on February 2nd, the first day summer enrollees can send in their Letters-of-Intent, but will likely take a couple of visits after that date before he makes his decision.

Wherever Ingram winds up he'll have three years to play two the moment he steps on campus.
