Bowman continues to be a hot prospect

L.A. Pierce S Gerald Bowman (6-1, 215) continues to rack up the offers. The talented safety already has nine offers to his name and he's got more top programs eying his talents. JCFootball.com got an update from the talented, big-hitting safety prospect and he updated us on where things stand...

"I got offers from Oregon State, Ole Miss and Colorado, those are the most recent ones," Bowman told JCFootball.com earlier this week. "Ole Miss is offering me depending on whether I can get out in December, which I'm on pace to do, and the other ones just came in too.

"Pretty much every school that has offered me wants me as a mid-year guy, so that's what all of them are saying actually."

In addition to the three new offers, Bowman already had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, South Florida, Utah and West Virginia.

"USC and Oklahoma are both on me pretty hard right now too and Oregon as well," Bowman said. "SC isn't sure if they will be able to offer me due to their NCAA (sanctions), but they want to offer me.

"Oklahoma talks to me all the time and I think they want to offer, but they have some other guys they are evaluating, so I should know more from them pretty soon."

As a starter for the Brahmas this past season, Bowman notched 58 tackles, one sack and one interception while playing both the free and the strong safety positions.

"In our defense, you have to play both safeties," Bowman said. "A lot depended on the formation we were lining up against and sometimes the team we lined up against.

"I can play both pretty equally, so whichever one a team needs me to play, that's what I will do."

As mentioned earlier, Bowman is on pace to finish up his degree in December and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
