Jackson already has five offers on the table

Scottsdale TE Blake Jackson (6-4, 230) is one of the top JUCO tight end prospects in the country and he has the offers to prove it. Up until earlier this week, the talented prospect had four D-1 offers to his name and recently a fifth school, this one from the Big 12, threw their hat in the ring as well...

"I had offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, Pittsburgh and Toledo and then on (Tuesday) I talked to Texas Tech and they offered me too," Jackson told JCFootball.com. "Nebraska has also really picked it up and Montana is recruiting me pretty hard too.

"Right now I'm real excited about all the schools recruiting me.

"A&M is a great program and I love their offense; Arkansas played in the Sugar Bowl and I like the coaches there; Pitt has a new staff, but they are in there too and Toledo was one of the first to offer and they have an up-and-coming team; and Tech, they are always a strong offensive team so I know I could put up some numbers there."

As a freshman last fall, Jackson was one of the main receiving threat for Scottsdale hauling in 33 receptions for 540 yards and led the team with nine touchdowns.

"I'd say I'm about half-and-half on what I do best," Jackson said. "I'm a good receiver and I have the speed to beat linebackers and the size to overmatch safeties, but I'm also a good blocker.

"I actually like playing the more traditional tight end role, but our offense calls for me to split out too, so I do a lot of both."

As a prep, Jackson was a standout at Gilbert (Az.) High School, but was unable to qualify. He attended Mesa Junior College for a semester and decided to sit out a year since he was only 16 when he graduated from high school back in 2008.

"I was just too young to be doing both school and football," Jackson said. "I got some things straightened out, grew up a little and now I'm focused and ready to go."

Jackson said he's on pace to graduate this December and will have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
